Sustainability Vision: Regeneration
Sustainability Vision: Regeneration
In 2023, we announced the incorporation of the concept of regeneration into the strategy and strengthened our commitments. Discover in this chapter our main actions, which have a leading role in Latin America.
In 2023, we announced the incorporation of the concept of regeneration into the Natura &Co Latin America strategy, which should be the new axis of our business strategy, just as sustainability was more than 20 years ago. Discover in this chapter the actions that we are already implementing along this path.
Commitment to Life: update on Latin America’s goals
We understand that our operations in the region must meet the urgency of the socio-environmental challenges in which we live. Therefore, not only have we expanded the metrics for the 2030 objectives in our Commitment to Life from 31 to 37, but we have also established more ambitious targets linked to regeneration and net zero targets based on science.
Biodiversity and Nature
Discover our approach to integrating climate, biodiversity and human rights into the way we positively impact communities and establish a business model that protects ecosystems through access to biodiversity assets.
Amazon: People and Nature
The Amazon is our main platform for innovating and generating positive impact. Our work seeks to generate benefits mainly for the agroextractive communities with which we interact, with initiatives aimed at forest conservation and regeneration, the promotion of a low-carbon economy and social inclusion.
Ethical and Responsible Sourcing
Guided by our Biodiversity Policy, our actions focus on protecting human rights, valuing biodiversity and ensuring compliance with Lifetime Commitments. On this journey, we have increased the positive impact generated on the lives of more than 11,000 families in 51 Latin American communities while increasing the naturalness of our formulations, which are 95% vegan.
Packaging and Circular Economy
We employ a proactive approach to product lifecycle management. In 2023, 88% of our packaging was recyclable, reusable or compostable. Natura celebrated 40 years of using refills, which in 2023 prevented the generation of 2.1 thousand tons of waste.
Emissions and Business Decarbonization
We will build a Climate Transition Plan in 2023. We believe that carbon market regulation must incorporate equal mechanisms for remunerating local communities. We defend financial mechanisms that promote the reduction or removal of carbon as well as the establishment of income in the countryside.
Institutes and Social Impact
In 2023, we began the process of the integration of the Natura and Avon institutes and the Avon Foundations in Latin America with the aim of adding forces and synergies to boost causes and expand the reach of initiatives, increasing the impact of actions in the region in favor of social change and Beauty Consultants.
